Optical Calcite

Regular price $29.00

This is a polished slab of Icelandic Spar, or Optical Calcite, with excellent clarity. Very soft, wonderful for holding during meditation and can also stand for display. Optical Calcite, also known as Icelandic Spar, is best known for its optical effect of birefringence. Historians theorize that Optical Calcite was the "Viking Sunstone" used to navigate the open seas.
