SMOKY QUARTZ
Smoky Quartz Crystal is an essential healing crystal utilized throughout history by many cultures. The ancient Druids and Celts associated Smoky Quartz with the Gods and Goddesses of the Earth and Hectate, goddess of the Occult and the Dark Moon. This stone’s smoky appearance was seen as ghost-like to ancient Gaelic peoples, who came to see Smoky Quartz as a symbol of the afterlife and conduit to the spirit realm. It was also a symbol of the harvest - the transition into the darker times of the month.

In the metaphysical world, Smoky Quartz is considered a supreme grounding stone, ideal for connecting to the Earth’s energies and allowing negative energy to be drawn away. And like Clear Quartz, Smoky Quartz is also useful for cleansing energy and crystal cleansing.

Smoky Quartz is a stone that alleviates fears. Fear of failure, rejection or even health anxiety. It is not that Smoky Quartz necessarily prevents any harm, but it casts a different light on how we feel about what we fear. Perhaps its association with the shadowy side of reality, darkness and the 'underworld' allows us to think of these things differently. Rather than fearing the unknown, we embrace the things beyond our understanding and accept everything as a part of our earthly experience.

Smoky Quartz does, however, have a reputation for protection as well - crucifixes made of Smoky Quartz were placed in the bedroom to keep evil away in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. It was thought to keep spirits and paranormal at bay while we were sleeping - a guardian for our subconscious. Native American also saw Smoky Quartz as a stone that protected one in the ethereal realm from harmful forces. Today we can think of Smoky Quartz as a stone that helps us to accept the strange or unknown in the outside world and within ourselves. It is an excellent stone for ridding intrusive thoughts or self-doubts that arise in our minds when we try to think of the future or forget troubles in the past.

BLACK TOURMALINE
Black Tourmaline is a wonderful crystal for protection and has been used throughout history for protection: Ancient peoples saw Black Tourmaline as a shield against negative spirits and destructive forces. Today, Black Tourmaline reminds us to let go of our own negative thoughts and work to correct self-destructive patterns of behavior. A stone for turning around one's attitude and attracting positive energy into our lives. Black Tourmaline is a crystal that is used in Chakra healing and is particularly good for the Base Chakra.

Black Tourmaline is an Energizing Crystal, it can become electrically charged when stimulated and has both practical and metaphysical uses for passing energy. Black Tourmaline has a powerful connection to the Earth's energy and is an excellent stone for grounding and restoring one's energy.

Black Color Energy: The color of the vast universe as we see it in the night sky. Black is a color that we are both drawn to and are wary of. We can feel safe, protected by darkness, or hesitant because of what may be concealed here. And so Black is the color of mystery and discovery. It inspires confidence and a fearless exploration of life’s questions. Primarily, Black energy is thought to help us accept our Earthly existence as temporal and to feel safe and grounded

The name Tourmaline comes from an ancient Sinhalese word turmali, meaning “a mixed color precious stone,” or turamali, meaning “something small from the earth.”
