Rare Find. This is a Juchem Agate Slab with the original markings from the miner. UV reactive. Juchem agates are highly prized, colorful specimens sourced from the Juchem Quarry in Niederwörresbach, near the historic gemstone hub of Idar-Oberstein in southwestern Germany. Formed in volcanic basalt roughly 275 million years ago, these agates are celebrated for their vivid concentric banding, vug formations, and occasional UV reactivity. Because the Juchem Quarry is a commercial site and active digging is strictly regulated, these sought-after agates are primarily acquired by collectors.
