This is a lustrous Ilvaite mineral specimen hailing from the Huanggang Mines of Inner Mongolia. Large size for this material and in excellent condition. Nice aesthetic shape.  Ilvaite is a rare black silicate mineral with unique electrical properties. A lovely specimen for collectors looking for less common black crystals to work with.
